A big welcome to all our new first year students, new staff and all continuing students and staff of GMIT!
We are looking forward to re-opening our libraries on 21st September.
While it will be challenging and our services and hours will be restricted we will be doing our level best to support you for the coming academic year.
Reopening of library spaces will be phased, and limited. Social distancing guidelines will reduce the capacity of reading spaces, and some services such as using the study rooms for group study will happen at a later stage. Event spaces will not be available for the foreseeable future.
The plan is informed by Government directives for public health and University guidelines and decisions. We will continually review and revise our plans in response to changes in Government and University policy.
We will develop new digital services to compensate for physical closure and limited access to services, facilities and collections.
