Library Ireland Week is running from 5th – 10th December.

The theme for this year is ‘Libraries as Places of Sanctuary’.

“The library is an open sanctuary. It is devoted to individual intellectual inquiry and contemplation. Its function is to provide free access to ideas and information. It is a haven of privacy, a source of both cultural and intellectual sustenance for the individual reader. Since it is thus committed to free and open inquiry on a personal basis, the library must remain open, with access to it always guaranteed” — Robert G. Vosper, educator and librarian.

ATU Libraries aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for all.

To mark this year’s Library Ireland Week, all ATU students are invited to enter our first ever all campus student competition. Submit your entry here.
