Databases A-Z
… and other online resources
Library databases are online collections that search quality journal, magazine, newspaper and other academic sources.
There are so many databases because there is so much information. There is no one database that covers all the resources available. Some databases will be directly focused on your subject, while others, such as Academic Search Complete cover a wider range of subjects so are useful for multidisciplinary topics and topics that don’t fit a specific subject.
IReL is a consortium of Irish research libraries, providing access to licensed e-resources, OA publishing agreements, and open science infrastructure. ATU is a member of this consortium since January 2023.
Funded by N-TUTORR, the National Technological University Transformation for Recovery and Resilience programme. N-TUTORR data collection form.
Read and Publish deals allow corresponding authors from ATU to publish their articles open access immediately on publication. See IReL OA agreements for more information.

Which databases you use depends on what you’re looking for, it’s a good idea to start with Search + Find because it indexes a large number of the databases and other collections.
