The website is a gateway for searching for information. It is referred to as the library catalogue or WebPac and is available via the Internet at: http://library.gmit.ie.

You can also use the website to:

• Check what books the library holds
• Check if a book is available/on loan
• Check what journals the library holds
• Renew your books (My Library Account)
• Check your current loans and reading history (My Library Account)
• Reserve on-loan items or items available in other campuses (e.g. Castlebar)
• Email queries to the Library (Ask a Librarian)
• View and print exam papers
• View special collections (Library Collections and Course Reserves)
• Make Inter-Library Loan requests

Some functions on the Catalogue require you to enter a PIN. Set up your PIN in My Library Account. Use a four-digit number, which the system will confirm. You will need a PIN to:

• Check Current Loans Request Items on Loan or Items Available in Other Campuses
• See Lists of Previous Loans
• Renew Books
• Cancel Requests (holds)
• View and print exam papers
• Access & Search Electronic Resources
• Suggest a Book to Purchase (Staff Only)
• Make Inter-Library Loan requests
• Issue & Return Books Yourself Using the Self Service Station
