The library is named after the writer and landowner George Augustus Moore (1852-1933), of Moore Hall, County Mayo. 

The Moore library is as old as the campus itself which opened to students in September 1994. It has grown with the campus and now extends over three floors.  Books, journals, computer workstations, multimedia facilities, and photocopiers are housed on the ground and first floor of the library and special collections are housed on the second floor of the library block.  Study seating is available on both floors.

The main library circulation desk is situated on the ground floor.

Student computers and audiovisual workstations are located on the first floor. Students using the Computing and multimedia facilities should go to the information desk upstairs).

There are 13 computer workstations on the library first floor with two printers attached, black/ white and colour.  There is a printing charge of approximately 8c per black/white page and 25c per colour page.  Printing cards can be purchased from a dispenser at a cost of €3.50 each and these cards can also be used for photocopying.

Students with specific physical needs may use the motorised desk/computer workstation facility on the ground floor. 

There are also two scanners for student use.  These may be booked in advance if required.

There are two TVs/DVD players video players for use on site. CD and Audio cassette players are available on request.

Photocopying for student is self service using the photocopiers on the first floor.

Photocopying must be in accordance with copyright legislation.

WiFi is available throughout the library and there are electrical power points available on both floors to facilitate lap top use.

The Library is situated above the canteen and is divided into two floors. The lower library has 1802 metres of working space and is divided into specific areas; an area on this floor is dedicated to the Letterfrack Public Library.
