About Us




GMIT has four libraries in different campus locations - the Galway Campus, Centre for Creative Arts and Media (CCAM), Mayo Campus, and Letterfrack Campus.

Our library stock is fully automated and all our print materials are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system.


The mission of the library is to promote a learning culture within GMIT by acquiring, organising, disseminating and providing access to learning resources and services in a congenial environment. The library will support teaching, learning, research and regional development by providing a customer based service to our students, staff and stakeholders.

The College's Dublin Rd. library, is situated in the Learning and IT Resource Centre, is an important information and resource base for students and staff of the college.

CCAM library is an excellent resource centre for students and staff of GMIT, specialising in Art & Design and Film & Television.

Mayo Mayo


The Moore library is as old as the campus itself which opened to students in September 1994. It has grown with the campus and now extends over three floors. 

Letterfrack Letterfrack


The Library is situated above the canteen and is divided into two floors. The lower library has 1802 metres of working space and is divided into specific areas; an area on this floor is dedicated to the Letterfrack Public Library.
