Collections

The Lending Collection is the main collection of books and is stored on the ground floor of the library. Search the Library Catalogue for a listing of items available.

The Reference Collection is stored on the mezzanine floor and can only be used in the Library.

Reference: general reference material such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, atlases.

Machine Manuals: these cover the majority of woodworking machines that are located in the woodworking shop.

Student theses: the library has a collection of student projects which are stored behind the reception desk. (List of theses)

Exam papers: hard copy campus exam papers from 1999 to date are stored behind the Library Reception Desk. Exam papers from 2005 onwards are available online (http://library.gmit.ie/screens/exampaperl.html)

Newspapers: the Irish Times is available in the Library. Many more papers including international titles are available online.

Video Collection: these resources can only be used in the Library and are catalogued by subject area.

Journals/periodicals: the library subscribes to approximately 34 journals published at different intervals over a yearly period. They are arranged in alphabetical order by title on the journal display shelves. Back journal copies are available on the same stands as the current journals. (Current journal titles).
